Re: Where Geoff Byrne was | ||

That's a lot of kids wandering the streets of Belle Haven on hackers' night. Did anyone interviewed mention seeing Gitano Bryant and his two friends in the vicinity of Walsh lane that night? According to Hope Seeley, Gitano "Tony" Bryant told investigators he "left Belle Haven shortly after 9 p.m. to catch a train back to New York." Tres Mills says Tony claimed he was hanging out with Geoff Byrne that night and left Geoff and the two boys from the Bronx "lurking outside the Skakel home" when he took the train home.
www.ctnow.com/news/local/...1818.story Seeley confirmed that Bryant told investigators hired by her law firm that his friends were carrying the Skakel golf clubs. Bryant said he wanted no part of their plans and left Belle Haven shortly after 9 p.m. to catch a train back to New York. Bryant said he learned of Moxley's murder the next day, and he added that his friends admitted their role to him within days of the attack. Bryant, reached Friday night, would not discuss the details of that evening or his statement to investigator Vito Colucci. "I've given my statement to the defense team and I'll stand behind my statement," Bryant said. "I really don't wish to give another statement at this time." Asked if he believes Michael Skakel is innocent, he said, "I've told you what I wanted to tell." Mills, now 42, learned Bryant's version of the events of Oct. 30, 1975, 26 years later. Mills, who lives in New York City, said he and Bryant had stayed in touch off and on since seventh grade, and Mills thought Bryant might be able to help him with a script he was writing about Belle Haven and the murder. This was some time after Skakel's January 2000 arrest. Mills said he sent Bryant the script but heard nothing back. Mills said he was persistent in seeking Bryant's input, and it was sometime around Christmas 2001, he said, that Bryant told him what he knew about the night Moxley was murdered. "He told me he was there that night with [the two friends], hanging out with Geoff Byrne. They were talking about getting a girl `caveman-style,' at which point Tony said he was not going to have anything to do with this," Mills recalled. "[Tony] said he left the rest of them lurking outside the Skakel home - Geoff and the other two - and took the train back to the city. The two guys recounted the killing to him the next day." |

Why are the times redacted in the GPR? And was there a confirmation maybe from Geoff's parents that he got home at 9:30pm?

As I recall, Byrne's parents weren't home that night. I'll double-check that in the police reports.
